SUPPORT THE TROOPS (PART I)

President Bush and Senator McCain have been fervently waiving the American flag these past several years, insisting that we must support the war effort in order to show that we "support the troops".

However, both the Bush Administration and John McCain have yet to get behind the most recent Veterans Administration bill that has been proposed by Congress that would expand educational assistance to retired vets. Are you ready for their reasoning?

McCain and Bush "worry that a more generous and expansive GI Bill would create an incentive for troops to get out of the military and go to college" (those are their words).

WHAT?

This is their rationale for opposing the bill? They can't be serious!
They are scared soldiers who have been fighting for this country these past 7 years might consider improving their lot in life per the agreement this country made with them when they signed-up, so they are going to rescind or scale back these incentives in the hope that they will continue to place themselves in harms way indefinitely? Shame on them (especially John McCain)!

I hope any red-blooded American who has been screaming the mantra "Support the Troops" had better not have the audacity to support either one of these hypocrites. If you are so inclined, you can scrape that "Support the Troops" bumper sticker off your car, and stop sending me emails showing pictures of our young men and women in uniform.

If this kind of unconscionable behavior does not raise your ire enough to turn you against these two men, wait until "Support the Troops, Part II" - you're really not going to believe this next story.
